Correspondence, affidavits, memoranda and other papers relating to legal affairs of the church and relief efforts for displaced persons after World War II. Correspondents include Metropolitan Theophilus, Bishop John (Zlobin) of Alaska, Ralph M. Arkush and Ivan M. Czap. The collection also contains records of the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Virgin Protector on East Second Street in New York City, including letters, reports, bulletins, records of donations to the Cathedral, and newsletters from churches around the country.

A.E. Bezsmertny was born in Kiev, began seminary studies in Russia, completed his education after coming to America in the 1920s. He became secretary and subdeacon to Metropolitan Platon, and was secretary of the Church administration under Metropolitans Theophilus, Leonty and Ireney. He retired in 1966.
